Swashby and the Sea

Written by Beth Ferry, Illustrated by Juana Martinez-Neal

Houghton Mifflin 2020

A beautiful story of friendship between old, young, the sea and people. I love how the sea is a character who helps Swashby along in the just the right way. The language is a delight as are the illustrations. I want to hug this book. So does Blue Bear.

We'll start of with a review of a book that is very important to our home, Earth.

The Mess That We Made written by Michelle Lord, illustrated by Julia Blattman

At first Blue Bear was worried about the building intensity of the problems we as humans are creating in our natural world and all the pollution and garbage in our oceans. But the author and illustrator gave him hope halfway through with real solutions and things we can do to fix the mess that we have made and help the natural world heal. There are wonderful calls to action at the end to help show humans how they can clean up and save the Earth. This book is a must for every human inhabiting this world. Blue Bear gives this book a big thumbs up (if he had thumbs).
